Pumpkin seed oil

Rich in nutrients for scalp and skin health

Hair

In a randomized comparison of topical pumpkin seed oil vs. 5% minoxidil, both treatments significantly improved hair shaft diversity and reduced the number of vellus (thin) hairs over 3 months. Pumpkin seed oil showed promising results as a potential alternative to minoxidil

Skin

Researchers formulated a pumpkin seed oil–loaded niosomal serum. It showed 5α-reductase inhibition (a key enzyme in DHT production), anti-inflammatory effects, and successfully reduced hair loss in a human panel over an 8-week trial

A 2018 clinical study investigated the topical use of pumpkin seed oil for treating acne. Researchers tested the oil’s anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects on 20 patients with acne vulgaris over three months. Results showed a significant reduction in acne lesions - by 38% after one month, 59% after two months, and 84% after three months - without any adverse effects. Patients reported high satisfaction, with 100% either satisfied or highly satisfied with the results. The oil’s rich content of unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals contributed to its effectiveness as a potentially natural alternative to conventional acne treatments.

MAYBE: A 2018 clinical study found that pumpkin seed oil significantly reduced acne lesions - up to 84% in three months - with no side effects. Thanks to its rich mix of fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, the oil helped calm inflammation, fight bacteria, and promote clearer, healthier skin

key attributes of pumpkin seed oil is its high concentration of essential fatty acids. These acids, including omega-3 and omega-6, play a crucial role in maintaining the skin’s barrier function. A healthy skin barrier is essential for keeping moisture in and harmful environmental elements out. When applied topically, pumpkin seed oil helps to lock in moisture, preventing dehydration and promoting a supple, hydrated complexion.

Ingredient Disclaimer:

We use Styrian pumpkin seed oil, a rare, nutrient-dense variety with a richer profile of fatty acids, vitamin E, and antioxidants profile. While the research above is based on standard pumpkin seed oil, the higher nutrient concentration of Styrian oil may enhance the observed effects.

Rosemary oil

Powerful Antioxidant for hair and skin

Hair

A six-month randomized clinical trial involving 100 men with androgenetic alopecia found that rosemary oil performed just as well as 2% minoxidil in increasing hair count. Both groups saw significant growth compared to baseline, with no meaningful difference between them after six months. Interestingly, rosemary oil users reported less scalp itching than those using minoxidil.

Topical application of rosemary leaf extract on mice resulted in improved hair regrowth. The study identified 12-methoxycarnosic acid as a potent inhibitor of 5α-reductase - an enzyme responsible for converting testosterone into DHT, which is implicated in hair loss.

Skin

Rosmarinus officinalis extract is rich in bioactive compounds such as carnosic and rosmarinic acids that exhibit strong anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and wound-healing capabilities. Some studies suggest these effects are comparable to pharmaceutical treatments like indomethacin.

In animal and in vitro models, rosemary extract - especially when formulated in advanced delivery methods - helped reduce skin inflammation, protect against UV-induced damage, and minimize photodamage like collagen degradation and wrinkles.
